The EK String Quartet ref: 6046
The EK String Quartet a professional string quartet based in Glasgow, playing at live events across Scotland. Their players are experienced freelance performers who have performed with groups including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Opera, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Scottish Ballet.
The EK Quartet are comfortable with all genres of music from Classical to Jazz, Folk to Pop and have a wealth of experience in playing at all types of events from background to centre-stage and acoustic to amplified settings. They have several years of event work under their belt including hundreds of weddings across Scotland.
Their primary focus at the moment is the wedding and corporate market although they have an expanding interest in cruises and other avenues. Typically for a wedding they play for the entrance of the guests (30 minutes prior to the ceremony). Following this, they can play throughout the ceremony, for the entrance, signing, exit and to accompany any hymns or play other religious music if required. After this, they often continue playing at the reception, where they perform a variety of lighter pieces including some jazz and pop numbers. The quartet's current players are: Aaron (violin), Daniel (violin), Emma (viola), and Duncan (cello).

|Wedding||We had the great good fortune to have this highly talented string quartet playing for us at our wedding ceremony and ensuing reception. What a discovery this gifted group of musicians proved to be. Long after the reception was over many of our guests, who had all thoroughly enjoyed the group's playing throughout the course of the afternoon and evening, were still enthusing over their performance.|
|Wedding||"The quartet played at our wedding. They were presented beautifully and played exquisitely. All our guests commented on what a wonderful addition they were to our day. We discussed our choice of songs for the ceremony and they offered advice. They also continued to play during our photographs and reception. Thank you for helping to make our day so special. We will recommend them to everyone who is getting married in the future."|
