The SR Barn Dance /Ceilidh Band ref: 6297

Based on an English Barn Dance Band, they can also include American, Scottish and Irish if desired. A traditional style 5 piece band comprising:

Mary – accordion, has played for several barn dance bands and Morris sides.
Paul – banjo. Trained on classical guitar, now plays melodeon and banjo. Musician and dancer, for a local Morris side for many years.
Rowanne – violin, young and talented, also plays alto sax.
Plays in several local youth bands.
Pete – guitar, new to folk, but highly experienced in other genres.
Alistair – bass, he is also a highly talented trumpet player who plays in several local bands (Big Band; Brass Band; Rock: Folk etc.)

Wedding	"Hi, just wanted to say thank you for sorting out the band for us, was a totally wacky night, everyone loved the band, and had a good time. The bride loved it, and had a blast. 60th Birthday	We were privileged to be guests at a 60th birthday party on Saturday night and we were roundly entertained by the incredible SR band. It is just impossible to sit down when these guys are doing their 'thing'. Absolutely brilliant.

The music was ideal for both children and adults alike and fortunately your caller was very sympathetic and patient with our inexperienced dancers!! Although we were a bit slow getting started your caller made the dances such fun that before the evening was over everyone joined in with great enthusiasm. Wedding	I just wanted to drop you a line to say the band were fantastic at our wedding on April 1st. We had a lot of fun, the music was great and lively and got everyone up and dancing. We wouldn't hesitate to book them again for another event.
Party	Thank you for the excellent way you lead our party on Friday night. You were perfect in the way you handled our mixed group of guests and everyone has told us how much they enjoyed the evening – even if they were only spectators to the Ceilidh. We really appreciate all you did.
