About Bands for New Year & Christmas
Organising a Christmas or New Year (Hogmanay) party
If you are organising a Christmas and New Year Party, there are many things to consider, such as the Theme, Venue, Food, entertainment etc.
Popular themes for Christmas parties include Brazilian Carnival, Gangster, Glam 70s, 80s Rocking Good Xmas, Abba and the perennial favourite. Look on our website for bands inyour area to match the them. Perhaps a covers band or a jazz band of the period.
If you're having a New Year's party why not have one of our your area based Scottish Ceilidh Bands for a real Hogmanay experience.
The types of venue ideally suited for Christmas parties include nightclubs and hotels, providing, as they do, a blank canvas that is ideal for the event theming.
Food other than the ubiquitous roast turkey, Christmas pudding and all the trimmings is becoming increasingly popular as clients seek less traditional, more interesting menus for the Christmas party.. . For New Year it is of course Tatties and Neeps to accompany the mighty Haggis.
No organised Christmas function is complete without entertainment and popular forms of entertainment at such events include discos, bands, dance acts, casinos and magicians. Midsummer Music is a live band agency, so ask us to quote you for whatever kind of music you are looking for inyour area.
Budgeting For A Christmas event
The cost of an organised Christmas party will naturally depend on factors such as the event venue, the event theme, the choice of catering, whether the drinks are all to be provided by the company or individual hosting the event and the entertainment chosen. Tell us exactly where inyour area (post code if possible) so that we can give you an accurate quotation, including travel where applicable.
Book Early To Avoid Disappointment!
Bands can get booked up very early. It is advisable to book your New Year or Christmas function at the beginning of the calendar year, preferably in January, to avoid disappointment and that is when you should book your Ceilidh or other band; although it is generally still possible to arrange a festive party as late as August/early September.
