Born in Co. Antrim, the Irish multi-instrumentalist Susan started fiddle and singing lessons at eight years old. Her love of traditional music soared when she started playing the harp at the age of eleven.

The start of her performing career came at a young age when a family friend, Leith Burgess, asked her to play a concert for him after hearing her play at her grandparents’ house.

About Lothian

East Lothian (or Haddingtonshire as it was formerly known) is a county in the south-east of Scotland, bounded on the west by Midlothian, on the north and east by the Firth of Forth and the North Sea, and on the south by Berwickshire. In the southern part of the county are the Lammermuir hills, in the north the land is generally flat and fertile. Traditional industries in the area are farming, fishing and coal-mining.
