But Jazz bands can mean many things. You may be thinking in terms of a trad jazz band, which typically have very loud instruments, trombones, trumpets, banjos, clarinets etc. At the other extreme you may be considering lounge jazz, with acoustic guitar double bass and gentle piano.This is quiet, gentle music that requires a subdued and smoky atmosphere to gain its best effect.
