PROBLEM OPENING DOCUMENT

We email you documents such as the 'Confirmation of Booking' and 'Completion of Contract', in PDF format. Normally you double left  click the mouse on the PDF (or tap the screen), and it will open. It is very rare that anyone has problems, but if you have, then:

If you have a PC, Laptop or Apple

If you can't open the documents, it is probably that your computer lacks the required software.  This is unusual, as most computers in the world have it preinstalled. Do the following:

  • Save the PDF from your email to your computer.

    1. Don't try to open the PDF with Microsoft Word or other word processor

    2. Double mouse click on the PDF to see if it opens. If not:

    3. Right mouse click on the PDF, and select Open With Adobe Reader (if your computer gives you that option.) If not:

    4. Open your web browser (eg Windows Explorer, Google Chrome etc). Drag the PDF onto the browser and see if it opens. If not:

    5. You probably don't have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. You can download and install it free from this link http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/ Once installed you should be able to open and read the PDFs

If you have Tablet or Smart-Phone

Ipads should be able to open PDFs. Other tablets vary. Some smart-phones can open PDFs. Tablets and smart-phones that can't open PDFs often have PDF reader software available for them. Your alternative is to read the PDFs on a full computer of some kind.

PROBLEM MAKING LINKS WORK

We email you documents such as the 'Confirmation of Booking' and 'Completion of Contract', in PDF format. There are a number of Hyperlinks to websites on the PDF. If you are reading the PDFs on a Windows computer with any of the major web browsers, the hyperlinks are clickable.

If you are reading the PDFs on an Ipad or Apple computer using their Sarari web browser, then the links are probably not clickable. Your options are:

  • Use the copy of the links that are included on the email to which the PDF was attached. These should work on an Apple or Ipad. OR

  • Copy the link and paste it into the address bar of the web browser. OR

  • Use Google Chrome, if installed on the Apple, where the links should work. OR

  • Read the PDFs on a Windows computer

Similar applies to many smart phones, where you need to copy the link and paste it into the web browser.
