The FW Folk Band ref: 4131.1
This unusual talented group are a four piece acoustic band: instruments including accordion, whistle, guitar, laúd, mandolin, vocal, double bass, violin, plus occasional guest playing djembe, shakers. Their music is instrumental and arranged for concert; but much of it is danceable and all of it is easily accessible..
Formed in 2001 the band have played in numerous clubs, festivals, weddings and events and have performed live on Shropshire's BBC Radio.
The band also offer Circle Dancing. This is less energetic than a barn dance or ceilidh but no less fun, very easy and very sociable. Their caller's enthusiasm is infectious and the dances are entirely suitable for beginners. The music is similar to their normal repertoire but played for dancing.
|BBC Radio Shropshire||"Rich, exotic melodies and tight, driving rhythm, the band play an eclectic mix of music from Eastern Europe and France. "Brilliant... like The Ukrainians meet klezmer"|
