Jazz piano- Philip

Philip, a South African born pianist, plays Jazz Standards & Latin Jazz. His international career has included playing at Ronnie Scotts though he is equally at home in intimate settings such as the plush surroundings of London’s Lanesborough Hotel. Jazzwise magazine praised his ‘enjoyable, easy swinging’ playing and his CDs have received widespread critical acclaim and national airplay including the ‘Jamie Cullum Show’ on BBC Radio 2.

Philip plays jazz standard, ballads, bossa nova and some music with a groove! He has a wide variety of music in his repertoire and is happy to adapt to what is required for your occasion. He has an electric piano if needed.

Reception"Your playing on Saturday was a delight and entirely as we would have wished. You are very skilled. I'm sorry that in the 'hubbub' you were unaware of my vote of thanks and the applause, by all, but you can be assured that it was unanimous. I've also sent this email to Midsummer Music who I feel should be aware of the pleasure you gave. Very many thanks."
Review"He has particularly subtle judgement when it comes to harmonising simple melodies, making them neither too bare nor over-elaborate."
Jazz Review“Deft, lively, intensely rhythmic piano playing”
