The RJ Barndance Band play traditional Folk music for Barn Dances and Ceilidh, spanning all of the different flavours from the different corners of the British Isles. They play English, Irish, Scottish and American tunes, and can also offer an authentic Scottish ceilidh experience with full Highland dress. They play with the minimum of amplification and all instruments are acoustic. This band plays for parties, weddings and other events in and around Canterbury. All the musicians are very experienced, and their caller will ensure that everyone has a good time!
The musicians and the caller in the JR Barn Dance Band are all very experienced at barn dances, with much experience gained at Leeds Castle in the 80s and 90s. Canterbury is within this band’s local area for dances. The dances are not too complicated and are delivered in a laid back yet engaging way for all those attending who have never been to a Barn Dance before. Their material is based around American folk, with a strong Scottish influence. They have a top class sound system capable of coping with the largest of venues.
The SB Band are a BARN DANCE BAND - that's what they are - they do barn dances. Some people call them ceilidhs but they just do good old English country dances, to tunes from Britain and America, and make no bones about it. The TA Barn Dance Band have a line up of two musicians and a caller/musician, which can include fiddle, bodhran, piper, guitar or flute. Their caller loves diverse groups and is happy to adapt to two left feet or really experienced groups. They provide a joyful combination of music and dance and some fine fiddling when the dancers need to put their feet up.
Their music includes reels, jigs, hornpipes, polkas and waltzes.
