The RN Irish Folk Band

Based on an Irish Session Band, they can also include American and English if desired. The band have gone through a number of line-up changes since its inception in 2005 with the current line-up having been together for two years. Between them they play banjo, guitar, piano accordion, violin, mandolin, bodhran, penny whistle and keyboard with additional percussive input from cymbal and tambourine.

The band enjoys playing a mix of Irish, English and American folk songs and has earned a reputation for providing fans with a great night out. From the sing-a-long quality of songs like “All For Me Grog” and “The Black Velvet Band” to the instrumentational delight of tunes such as “The Countess Cathleen/The Women of Sidhe” and “Lord of the Dance” the band have one goal in mind - to entertain.

The RN Folk Band have played at festivals, clubs, pubs and village halls, plus numerous private functions.IN addition they have also played at prestigious venues further afield such as the Tower of London and Clontarf Castle in Dublin.

For special events the band have a partnership with an Irish Dance school and can offer wonderful visual and musical stage displays.

Music tracks are short snippets of pieces, some of which were with dancers.
