"The Churchgate Hotel Harlow is a listed country house hotel. Originally built in 1651 in a Jacobean style around a Chantry House. Over the years the building has been extended and modernised. The location is within a small village on the north eastern edge of Harlow, is a medium size town of around 80,000 residents and was one of the original New Towns built just after the second world war II. It has good amenities including a busy town centre. The area itself has a long history and includes notable heritage sites including a Roman Temple site. The hotel is only 0.7 miles from the M11, however the nearest junction is just over 3 miles to the north at Bishops Stortford. Using the M11 you have a direct link to Stansted airport or down to east London to pick up the North Circular A406 dual carriageway or the M25 (12 miles) London orbital motorway."
